Device Check-in/out

Students will take possession of their assigned device during the first six weeks of each school year and check in no later than the last day of each school year or upon withdrawal from Midland ISD.

  • Beginning of the Year: Chromebooks will be distributed after the required documents have been signed; Midland ISD Acceptable Use Agreement, which is part of the online registration procedure. The campus will determine the schedule.
    • Librarians will be checking out devices at each campus to individual students.
    • Chromebooks that are checked out will include a case and charger, as well as an ID tag, which should be filled out with name, campus, and grade.
    • Parents can sign up online for Securranty, which provides pre-paid repair or replacement coverage for the device at https://securranty.com/midlandisd 
  • End of Year: Students will turn in their Chromebooks at the end of the year. The campus will determine the schedule.
  • Withdrawal: If a student withdraws from Midland ISD, the device, charger, and accessories will be returned at the withdrawal time. Students will be responsible for paying for any damages to the equipment, not to exceed the replacement cost of the device. Failure to return district property in a timely manner may be considered unlawful appropriation of Midland ISD property.
