Petroleum Academy Students Tour a Working Rig Site

MISD Petroleum Academy Students, along with Interim Superintendent Rod Schroder, spent a day with Diamondback Drilling and experienced first hand a working oil rig.

The Petroleum Academy is working to give students the tools to go out and solve authentic- real work place problems.  By experiencing industry first hand through the engagement of community industry leaders supported by innovative coursework aligned to programs of study, students are gaining knowledge and skills that they need for Post-Secondary careers in STEM and in Industry.

Students in the Petroleum Academy attend Midland Freshman/Midland High School as well as Lee Freshman/Lee High School.
