Midland ISD to stay closed Wednesday because of inclement weather

NWS indicates icy conditions will persist overnight into

January 31, 2023 — Midland ISD will continue to stay closed Wednesday, Feb. 1, because of inclement weather.

The National Weather Service at its afternoon briefing indicated that icy weather will persist into tomorrow and that road conditions are expected to get worse overnight in the eastern Permian Basin. NWS also indicated that wind chills will be in the teens in the morning.

MISD will continue to monitor the weather and make a decision about Thursday after NWS’ afternoon briefing Wednesday. Decisions about when missed days will be made up will be communicated when they are finalized.
