Midland ISD will be on 2-hour delay Tuesday, Jan 31
District will re-evaluate road conditions in the morning
January 30, 2023 — Midland ISD will operate on a 2-hour delay Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, in anticipation of continued inclement weather.
While we are announcing a 2-hour delay now, we will continue to work with the National Weather Service and the Texas Department of Transportation and re-evaluate driving conditions in the morning. In the event that we must cancel school, we will inform parents, staff and the community by 6:30 a.m.
What follows is more information about the 2-hour delay.
Arriving to and leaving from school
Elementary students should report to campus at 9:45 a.m. Secondary students should report at 10:40 a.m.
The school day will end at the normal time.
Please note that Sam Houston Collegiate Preparatory School Academy and IDEA Travis Academy might operate on a different schedule. Parents with students at those schools should check with their respective campuses.
Bus schedule
Buses will run on a 2-hour delay. Drivers will be encouraged to utilize caution so please be patient in the event the times are not precise. Any tardies related to bus delays will be excused.
Bell schedules
Information regarding bell schedules can be found on your campus website.
Extracurricular activities
A decision on whether extracurricular activities will continue or be canceled for Tuesday will be made by 10 a.m. and communicated through coaches, sponsors, and directors.
Makeup days
Decisions on when missed days will be made up will be communicated when they are finalized.
