First Round of Apply Midland application window closes Friday

Easy way for families to apply for Schools of Choice or request a transfer

 

January 23, 2023 — Nearly 6,000 families have already submitted applications so far during the first round of Midland ISD's Apply Midland application window. The deadline for the first round is this Friday, January 27. Apply Midland is the online application portal that parents can access via computer or mobile device at midlandisd.net/apply.

 

At Apply Midland, families can:

  • Use the School Finder feature to gather information about every MISD campus.
  • Apply for Schools of Choice.
  • Submit an Intent to Return form.
  • Request a transfer.
  • Apply for Pre-K programs, including the Pre-K Academy at MC (starting in April)
  • Enroll for schools via Skyward in April.

 

Parents can apply for Schools of Choice including Sam Houston Collegiate Prep Elementary, Ben Milam International Academy (dual-language elementary school), Early College High School, our magnet campuses and several others. Those wishing to return to the same campus next fall must complete an Intent to Return form by January 27 to guarantee readmittance. Note: The deadline for G/T (gifted and talented) programs has passed.

 

Once all applications have been received, a lottery system will select from the applicant pool and automatically inform parents once school assignments have been made. Families will receive offers from schools in March.

 

"We are now in our third year of a fully online application process, and each year we find new ways to make the process more user-friendly and stress-free for parents," said Student Services Executive Director Jill McCall, who oversees the process. "The many options available to our students ensure families that no matter where they live in the city, they can get a quality education at a high-achieving school."
