November 4, 2021 — San Jacinto Junior High School opened its doors in 1952, and is celebrating it's 70th year educating the students of Midland. As a way to commemorate the occasion, the campus will host a 70th School Year Pep Rally on the 70th day of the school year.
The special pep rally will take place Monday, November 15 beginning at 3:15 p.m. Current students, alumni, and current and former faculty and staff are all invited to attend. During the event, attendees who represent former students and staff will be asked to stand and be recognized for their contributions to the school.
All current San Jacinto students will attend the pep rally, which will include the performances of the San Jacinto honor and symphonic bands.
Additionally, San Jacinto alumni and former staff are invited to write their memories on a banner that will be displayed on campus. Those wishing to sign the banner can do so now through November 12 in the school's front office, which can be accessed through the north entrance on Community Lane.
"We really wanted to do something to celebrate all of our current and former students and staff," said San Jacinto Principal Dr. Jessica Gore. "This gives us an exciting opportunity to show off our school and celebrate our history."
The 70th School Year celebration is organized by San Jacinto administration, PTA, cheer, band, and student council.
