May 6 2021 — Early College High School at Midland College is ranked among the best high schools in Texas and is considered No. 1 in the Midland metropolitan area, according to
U.S. News and World Report.
According to the rankings, ECHS sits at No. 519 among the state's thousands of high schools. The college prep school received scores of 98% in math proficiency and 93% in reading. Average math and reading proficiencies in Texas are 80% and 70%, respectively.
This year, all 79 seniors have committed to attend college after graduation. That's in addition to the associate degree they will receive from Midland College.
"Our students' success is the culmination of years of hard work," said Chancellor Renee Aldrin. "We teach all students that they can rise above, go beyond and conquer all, and they achieve great things year after year."
ECHS is a four-year high school in partnership with Midland College. Students have the opportunity to graduate high school with an associate degree and enter college ready for a bachelor's degree program. There is no cost to attend. For more information, visit
