Two Destination Imagination teams headed to state

Caver Center had four Destination Imagination teams competed recently at the regional competition in Levelland. Two teams have advanced to the state competition in March.

The fourth-grade team won the High Instant Challenge and the Renaissance Award, a special award for exceptional skill in the areas of engineering, design or performance. A sixth-grade team also is advancing to state and picked up a Renaissance Award in the process.

Carver’s fifth-grade team took 2nd place for making blankets and socks for cancer patients as their service project. They also won a DiVinci Award, a special award for exceptional creativity (not skill or talent), a unique approach to the challenge and/or risk taking. A sixth-grade team won 3rd place for their service project, which involved spreading kindness at a nursing home.

Way to go, Carver!
