Three Goddard Junior High students recognized for artistic achievements

The creativity is flowing at Goddard Junior High!

Three Goddard students have advanced to the state level in the PTA Reflections contest. All works centered around this year’s theme, “Heroes Around Me.”

Keren Ortega was acknowledged for her poem, “A Tapestry of Heroes.” Each stanza is written in a different style, signifying that heroism doesn’t come in just one form. Ortega says that anyone can be a hero, and heroes are everywhere.

Madolyn Burns created choreography to the tune of TobyMac’s “Me Without You.” Burns says her performance art piece focuses fondly on her faith. “Some heroes wear capes; mine wears a cross.”

Liberty Sustaita created artwork depicting the ABCs and a book, symbols of her heroes: teachers.

Congratulations, Keren, Madolyn, and Liberty! You all make us very proud!
