MISD Students Invited to Apply for Prestigious Baylor College of Medicine Doc-Prep Program

MISD Introduces Baylor College of Medicine Doc-Prep Program

February 2, 2026 — Midland ISD expands their partnership with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) to offer a unique summer opportunity for rising seniors interested in careers in medicine and health sciences. Eligible high school juniors are invited to apply for the BCM Doc-Prep Program, a highly competitive, no cost, week-long medical career exploration experience held on the Baylor College of Medicine campus in Houston. Only eight Midland ISD students will be selected districtwide to participate in this summer program. 

 

Student Eligibility

Students must:

  • Currently in 11th grade and have completed their junior year by the time of the experience
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in medicine or health sciences
  • Rank in the top 25% of their class
  • Be enrolled and in good standing at LHS or MHS

 

Application Information

The application deadline is February 27, 2026. Students should apply using the Baylor College of Medicine Doc-Prep Program application and review full program requirements and details through the materials linked in the application.

 

Program Alignment

The BCM Doc-Prep Program is part of Midland ISD’s STEM+M initiative—Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine—which connects rigorous academics with authentic, real-world experiences aligned to medical and healthcare career pathways. The program is made possible through the support of the Scharbauer Foundation.
