MISD Opens Enrollment for New and Returning Students

Pre-K & Kindergarten Round-up dates and times announced

April 1, 2026 — Enrollment is now open for families planning to attend Midland ISD for the 2026-27 school year. This enrollment period is for all students, including those applying for Pre-K or starting kindergarten, new students to MISD, and all returning students. Students returning to the district must re-enroll using their Skyward Family Access account.

All families are invited to get started by visiting midlandisd.net/enroll. The site serves as a portal to our enrollment and application tools for students and families at all levels and has been designed with families in mind to make the enrollment process as easy as possible.

"We continue to make adjustments in an effort to make the process as easy as possible for parents," said Adrian Garcia, Director of Student Information Systems. “It is essential that parents complete these online forms, so the district has the most current information for every student. To assist with this, we have easy-to-follow instructions to keep the process simple.”

The enrollment website includes step-by-step instructions on how to enroll using Skyward. It also includes a built-in Google translator, which makes the site easy to navigate, regardless of your preferred language.

Applications may be completed with a smartphone, but a larger device, such as a tablet or computer, will make it easy to read and complete forms. Computer stations are available at campuses for families needing assistance. If parents have additional questions, they should contact their campus.

Coinciding with the opening of the enrollment window, parents should also be aware of the following:

  • Choice School applications never close and are open year-round.
  • Students who live outside the Midland ISD boundaries are eligible to apply to attend Midland ISD. This opportunity is designed with students living north of the Lone Star Trails neighborhood in mind.
  • Students applying for an Out-of-District (OOD) transfer must provide attendance and discipline records, as well as proof of residency outside of MISD boundaries. These students are applying to Midland ISD, not to a specific campus. The Student Services Department will assign students to a campus with available space, and all placements are subject to transfer requirements. Transfers may be revoked if attendance or discipline expectations are not met.
  • Pre-K applications are now being accepted and will be online through Avela. Parents no longer need to visit a campus to apply, and documents can be uploaded through the online platform.
  • Kindergarten Roundup and Pre-K Roundup events have been scheduled throughout April and May.
