August 16, 2024 – Midland ISD is proud to announce that Board of Trustee member Sara Burleson has been accepted into the 2025 Leadership TASB Cohort, a distinguished program that brings together school board leaders from across Texas who share a commitment to strengthening governance and leadership in public education.
Leadership TASB, established in 1993 by and for school board members, is dedicated to inspiring trustees to become proactive and visionary leaders who promote educational excellence for all students in Texas public schools.
The 2025 cohort is composed of experienced board members selected for their demonstrated leadership in their local school districts and communities.
Sara Burleson’s selection into the Leadership TASB is a testament to her dedication and service to Midland ISD.
"I am honored to be chosen for this cohort with Leadership TASB. I feel it is my responsibility as a trustee to be informed, challenged, and inspired to continue to learn how to best lead Midland schools to greater heights," Burleson said. "As a teacher, I was constantly challenged to bring new ideas to the classroom, and I have found, being a trustee, that the same is true. The possibilities across our great state are vast, and I am excited to learn from and work with others doing this same work for students."
Over the course of the year-long program, which concludes in June 2025, she will have the opportunity to engage with fellow board members from across the state, share her insights, and gain new perspectives on effective school governance.
Upon completion of the program, Sara Burleson will bring back valuable knowledge and experiences to Midland ISD, contributing to the ongoing efforts to provide high-quality education for MISD students.
