Midland ISD Awarded Further Faster Funding to Strengthen Districtwide Performance Management System

Grant will deepen leadership development, targeted coaching, and campus-level support

March 31, 2026 — Midland Independent School District is proud to announce it has been awarded Further Faster funding to advance its districtwide performance management system, a key initiative designed to accelerate school improvement and student outcomes across all campuses.

The Performance Management Toolkit is the result of a strategic partnership between Midland ISD and the ILO Group. This work captures and operationalizes Dr. Howard’s vision for districtwide school improvement efforts.

At the core of this initiative is a commitment to ensuring true continuity across all Leadership, Teaching & Learning, Student Services, and School Improvement, so that systems, supports, and expectations are tightly aligned and consistently implemented at every campus. This unified approach ensures that every student benefits from high-quality instruction, strong leadership, and targeted support.

“This work reflects our commitment to building a cohesive system where every department and every campus is aligned to improve student outcomes. By strengthening how we monitor, support, and respond to performance, we are creating the conditions for sustained success across Midland ISD,” said Dr. Stephanie Howard, Superintendent of Midland ISD.

The Further Faster grant recognizes the strength of Midland ISD’s proposal within a highly competitive pool of applicants statewide. Submissions reflected strong vision and innovation, making the selection process both rigorous and highly selective.

“We are thrilled to continue supporting Midland ISD's work to advance its Strategic Plan. The Further Faster grant will deepen implementation through leadership development, targeted coaching, and stronger campus-level support, ensuring that the strategy shows up in practice in every school,” shared an ILO representative. “Midland is doing the hard work of turning vision into results, and this next phase will accelerate progress toward their bold goals.”

Midland ISD remains focused on its North Star goal of increasing the number of students served at A- and B-rated campuses and ensuring all students graduate college, career, or military ready.
