October 15, 2025 – The Midland Education Foundation is proud to celebrate a $145,000 investment from Chevron that will enhance educational innovation, expand STEM opportunities, and support student well-being across the Midland Independent School District.
This generous funding will empower teachers with resources to bring creative classroom projects to life, inspire students through hands-on STEM programs such as LEGO Science and Higher Orbits, and provide critical training for counselors at the annual Chevron sponsored Mental Health Conference. Together, these efforts will benefit tens of thousands of MISD students and educators by fueling innovation in the classroom and strengthening support systems for student success.
“Chevron’s partnership in education is making a lasting difference in Midland ISD,” said Anita Gamertsfelder, Midland Education Foundation Director. “Their investment ensures our students are prepared for the future, our educators are supported, and our community continues to thrive.”
“As Chevron celebrates 100 years of production in the Permian Basin, we remain deeply committed to investing in the future of our communities,” said Valerie Acosta, public and government affairs advisor for Chevron. “Education, workforce development, and community well-being are the pillars of long-term prosperity, and we’re proud to support Midland ISD through initiatives that spark innovation, expand STEM learning, and strengthen mental health resources. This investment reflects our enduring partnership with Midland and our belief that empowering students and educators today builds a stronger Permian Basin tomorrow.”
The Midland Education Foundation and MISD extend their heartfelt thanks to Chevron for their ongoing commitment to shaping brighter futures for students and families in the Permian Basin.
