Jane Long Elementary School
-
Long Elementary is a Leap through 6th grade campus offering bilingual services. We currently have 15 different languages spoken among our student body. We are a campus that believes in the value of building relationships with students, families, and community members. We encourage and support student leadership through various activities such as student council, Young Gentlemen's Club, and student leadership teams. We provide a safe and welcoming environment focused on continual growth for both our students and staff members. We believe that school should be fun and encourage all learners to engage in new and exciting learning opportunities.

Brian Ellington
Principal
My name is Brian Ellington. This will be my second year as the Principal of Jane Long Elementary.
I am beginning my 28th year in education. I began teaching and coaching in Hobbs, NM in 1995. I have served as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, director of social studies and a junior high principal prior to coming to Jane Long. Most of my time was spent at Midland High School where I was an assistant basketball coach and U.S. Government teacher.
I have a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. I have lived in Midland for 23 years and consider this to be my home. I have a son who is a junior in college and a daughter who is a sophomore in high school.
I am thoroughly excited about beginning another year at Jane Long Elementary. I look forward to strengthening our partnership to ensure all children are celebrated and supported. Together, we will ensure that we maintain our tradition of excellence and community that makes Jane Long such a special place.I have devoted my career to educating, inspiring, and advocating for students, both as a classroom teacher, coach and an administrator. I will continue to bring my passion, enthusiasm and experience to cultivate the unique educational programs that Jane Long has to offer. Above all, I will continue to observe, listen, learn, and understand what makes Jane Long thrive.
I will continue to listen to your ideas and vision for our school and collaborate with each of you to support our sense of community here at Jane Long Elementary. I will continue to strive to ensure that all families feel welcome and connected to our school family.
