Learning for Everyone at Preschool (LEAP)

The Learning for Everyone at Preschool (LEAP) program is an inclusive pre-kindergarten program for children ages 3-4 years (students must turn 3 on or before September 1, 2021). Each classroom consists of 12 typically developing students and approximately 3 to 6 students with special needs.

LOCATIONS LEAP classrooms are available at Greathouse Elementary, Jones Elementary, and Long Elementary.


  • Children turning 3 on or before 9/1/21
  • Schedule follows the teacher calendar.
  • 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on school days
  • 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on teacher work days


  • $500/month per child
  • Midland ISD employees must pay for child care via Payroll Deduction.

Enrollment Priorities

  • Siblings of currently enrolled LEAP students (no sibling discounts)
  • Children or legal dependents of Midland ISD employees

Application Process

LEAP registration is coming soon; notifications will be shared in the weekly employee memo. Please email application requests to leapregistration2021@midlandisd.net. Please include your name, phone number, and your child's name and birthdate. Also please rank (1st-3rd) your preferred campus (Greathouse, Jones, Long).

Employees who wish to enroll their child must do so at the Special Services office located on the 5th floor at Central Office. Enrollment packets will be accepted Monday through Friday 8-11 and 1-5. The entire packet must be completed and turned in before a spot can be reserved.

The enrollment packet includes:
1. The registration packet
2. The handbook agreement form
3. The Payroll Deduction Authorization form
4. The Section 125 Cafeteria Plan-Dependent Care form
5. A $50 non-refundable deposit (check or money order made out to Midland ISD)
