    Gifted/Talented & Advanced Academic Services

    Students who enter our campuses "ready to go" as either expert or advanced learners will find choices supporting annual academic growth. The G/T & AAS system of offerings seeks to find areas of student strength and accomplishment and provides services that encourage a year of growth for each school year. The Midland ISD Board of Trustees approved the following provisions:

    • Elementary services:
      • QUEST for Kindergarten G/T pull-out in the Spring semester,
      • GEM (Gifted Education Midland) 1.0: Grades 1-6 full-time campus services at Carver Center
      • GEM 2.0: Grades 1-6 pull-out sessions at Carver Center one day every other week at Carver Center
      • Midland Academic Scholars (MAS) enrichment services for potential G/T K_2 students 
    • Secondary campuses:
      • Designated G/T sections in advanced studies on each campus to include but not be limited to
        • College Board AP® courses
        • Courses in preparation for AP® courses,
        • dual credit courses,
        • PSAT and SAT preparation,
        • Academic Decathlon, and
        • Others determined to be beneficial to the unique populations served.
