Guidance and Counseling
Counselors are a vital part of every campus at Midland ISD. All of our counselors, who are skilled, qualified and certified, are there to provide a systematic, planned approach for helping all students acquire and apply basic life skills by providing developmentally appropriate assistance for all students while also providing special assistance to those who need it.
Do not hesitate to call or email your Campus Counselor if you or your student have a question or concern. Counselor lists for both Elementary and Secondary campuses are provided below.
Each of the 26 K-6 Elementary campuses and Carver Center, Midland ISD's GT elementary campus, is staffed with a full-time qualified and certified counselor.
At the Secondary level we have:- Two (2) Counselors at San Jacinto Junior High and Alamo Junior High
- Three (3) Counselors at Goddard Junior High and Abell Junior High
- Two (2) Counselors at each of the Freshman Schools
- Six (6) Counselors each at Legacy High and Midland High
- One (1) Counselor at Coleman High School
- One (1) Student Services Coordinator at Early College High School @ MC
In addition to the Counselors MISD provides Collegiate Coaches at each of the High Schools. The Collegiate Coach works to increase our student completion rates and assists students to reach graduation.
Our College Connection Advisor works with seniors at the three high schools. The advisor helps the seniors with the process of applying for college and helps them complete the Texas Common Application and also helps with the application for financial aid. Do not hesitate to call the advisor if you or your senior have a question or concern about college applications or financial aid.
