Our first intersession will take place October 18-21. Its purpose is for campuses to provide opportunities to support student learning and academic growth. MISD Elementary and Secondary campuses will offer intervention sessions in Reading, Math, EOC English I, II, and Algebra 1 to support identified students as per HB4545. MISD will also offer PK-12 enrichment sessions that will be provided on a first come, first served, or application basis. Elementary and junior high students will attend sessions full days. High school students may be required to attend half day sessions for EOC English I, II and Algebra 1 or a full day for both. High School students can use the non-required time for credit recovery, PSAT courses, EOC’s enrichment, college applications, STEM camps, Princeton Review, and FAFSA completion. The programs start and end times were adjusted after incorporating feedback from both the Superintendent’s Teacher and Parent Advisories. Each campus will provide intersession for its scholars. Principals will be busy this month staffing and making plans for their intersession program. Formal invitation letters will go out from your child’s school on September 20th. Specific questions can be addressed to your child’s school.
