Volunteers
Travis volunteers are dedicated parents, grandparents, community leaders, and retirees who help many school and classroom activities take flight. Whether they're organizing school fundraisers, preparing materials for class projects, or enriching classroom lessons with their business expertise, Travis volunteers provide invaluable services that enable students and their teachers to continue to reach for excellence.
While the majority of Travis's VIPS are family members like parents and grandparents, others have no children enrolled in our schools. These retirees, business professionals, and friends value the role of education and have chosen to invest in our future by helping our children. And it's quite an investment indeed. Some volunteers work directly with students in one-on-one or small group settings providing mentoring and instruction; others deliver support services on campus, while others do so at home. All that is required is the passion to help students succeed, plus a little bit of free time.
Volunteer involvement, especially by parents, is a proven factor in student achievement. Travis volunteers truly make a difference in the lives of our children and the community, inspiring us all to reach a little higher! If you are interested in volunteering your time please call 432-240-8200, and talk to your child's teacher.
