• Arrival and Dismissal

    Arrival

    Lamar Elementary officially opens each morning at 7:30 a.m. From 7:30-7:45 a.m. students are supervised by Lamar staff members. At 7:45 a.m. students are released to class.

    Walkers:
    Walkers will enter through the playground. Walkers will enter through the exit door at the end of the PreK and K hall.

    Parent Drop Off:
    Only a student accompanied by a parent may enter the front door. Parents must walk students into the building and get a visitor’s tag. Students may not be dropped off in the front and allowed to walk in unaccompanied.

    Car Riders:
    All car riders will be dropped off in the circle drive on Crestview. Car Riders will enter in through the 1st grade door. Parents must make a right turn when exiting the car rider line. Please drive down Barkley to enter the circle drive.

    Bike Riders will enter through bike rack doors.


    Dismissal

    You must have a white dismissal care to pick up your child for park and ride and the car rider line. You may get these from your child’s teacher.

    Dismissal begins at 3:20 p.m. No changes to dismissal may be made after 2:45 p.m. Students not picked up by 3:45 p.m. will need to be signed out in the office by a parent.

    Walkers:
    Walkers are students that walk home unaccompanied by a parent. Walkers will be dismissed at 3:35 p.m.

    Park and Ride:
    A Parent parks legally and picks student up at the front door. Parents must have a school issued card. The parent waits at the front door for the child. The parent may not pick up a student from a classroom. Parents may not park in the bus zone.

    Car Rider:
    A parent picks up a student in a car. Parents drive through the circle drive off of Crestview. Parents must have a school issued card displayed on the dashboard. Parents can only make a right turn when exiting the circle drive. Please enter the circle drive from Barkley.

    Bus Rider:
    Boys and Girls club and day care will be dismissed from the front.

    First Day of School:
    Students may report directly to class on the first day of school. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m.
