Standard Attire/Dress Code
Standard attire dress begins the 1st day of school.
All Standard Attire clothing will follow the MISD Student Code of Conduct dress code. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Belts are optional when belt loops are on the garment. All clothing must be the correct size.
Pants, shorts, skorts, capris, jumpers, dresses, and skirts are to be a solid navy, black or khaki (or tan). Pants must be worn at the waist. Shorts/skirts hem must be no more than 3 inches above the knee while standing. No cargo pockets or carpenter styles, stretch material, denim or jean material allowed. No tight fitting clothing is allowed.
Shirts must be polo style or oxford style, with collars, in solid white, any shade of blue, gray, red, black, or hunter green. Shirts must be long enough to stay tucked in. Shirts must be buttoned. No more than the top two buttons on a shirt may be left unbuttoned. A solid white, navy blue, royal blue, hunter green, black or red turtle neck or T-shirt/undershirt may be worn under the uniform shirt.
During cool weather a solid white, any shade of blue, gray, red, black, or hunter green sweatshirt or sweater may be worn over the uniform shirt with the uniform collar showing. Sweatshirts must not have hoods, pockets or zippers. Winter coats and jackets of any color may be worn before and after school or during outside recess. Leggings of solid uniform colors may be worn under skirts or shorts.
Visible logos or labels are to be less than 2” by 2” on any part of the uniform. Any distractions including distracting hairstyles, hair color or jewelry are prohibited. No mohawks.
On Fridays, a Jones spirit shirt or a college t-shirt may be worn with uniform pants. Students will have the opportunity to earn jean passes once a month for great attendance.
Closed in shoes are required.
