School Plant Services

  • The School Plant Services division is made up of multiple departments.  The departments consist of Energy Management, Carpentry, Door & Lock, Paint, Mill Shop, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Alarm, Irrigation, Electrical, Periodic Maintenance, Grounds Care, Environmental services, GIS / CAD and Special Projects.  These support departments are based on the most economical operations to allow for personnel and property protection and adaptation to the changing educational environment and programs.

    The Midland Independent School District, encompassing 765 square miles, consists of 45 permanent facilities and 105 single classroom portable buildings, totaling over 3,736,300 square feet.   All facilities are located on 890.46 acres of district property.

    The school building is one of the most costly tools in the educational process and is, to the public eye, the most tangible symbol of an ideal.  School Plant Services division combines money, personnel, materials, and methods into a planned program that provides the greatest possible support to educators, students, and our community.
