In Midland ISD, the Language Arts department embraces a framework that supports research-based instructional best practices in literacy for grades K-12. Our framework drives instructional decisions, district resources, and professional learning. We believe that students deserve a quality education founded in the Science of Reading. We strive to grow literacy skills in each student, every day. We desire to cultivate a love of reading and writing in each student through daily reading and daily text-based writing.
