Welcome Back 2025-26

Dear Midland ISD Families,

Welcome to a new school year!

As we begin the 2025–26 school year, I want to welcome each and every one of you—our students, families, staff, and community partners. Whether you are returning to Midland ISD or joining us for the first time, thank you for being part of our district. We are committed to making this a great year in MISD.

There’s something special about the start of a new school year. It brings a renewed sense of focus, purpose, and excitement for the important work ahead. The first day is always filled with energy and anticipation, and I’m excited to see the many opportunities this year will bring.

We are proud of the progress we have made—and even more energized about the road ahead. This year, we remain focused on what matters most - student success. Now entering the third year of our Strategic Plan, we continue to center our work around its three pillars: Student Experience, Grow & Develop Staff, and Engage & Act. This plan serves as a comprehensive roadmap that keeps us accountable for academic growth and improvement across our schools. With initiatives supported by success metrics, we are proud to share our progress with you as we look forward to the new year. You’ll see those updates throughout the year not only in team newsletters but also during Listen and Learn sessions, in some board meeting recaps, and through social media posts.

With our newly adopted board goals and a clear vision—Educating the Future with Excellence— clearly aligned to our Strategic Plan that is going into year three, we are focused on improving student outcomes, creating a great place to learn for all our students, and equipping our team with the skills needed to maximize the potential for each and every student.  

I encourage you to stay connected with us on our social media platforms to follow the many celebrations and highlights from across MISD. There is a lot to be proud of in our schools, and we love sharing those moments with you.

As we begin this new year, I want to thank you for choosing Midland ISD!  It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to educate our 30,000+ students.  Thank you for your support – working together, I am confident we will have a great year!
