March Transition

Dear Midland ISD,
As we approach the end of the 2025–26 school year, students are finishing their final preparations for End of Course examinations, Advanced Placement exams, Industry-Based Certifications, and decisions regarding plans after graduation. Throughout the year, I have seen their strong work ethic and commitment as they prepare for the next step in their journeys. I would like to share a brief update on the progress of the Class of 2026 and the many ways our students are preparing for success beyond graduation. These indicators reflect our commitment to ensuring every student graduates ready for college, career, or military service.
Our seniors continue to make strong progress toward graduation, and we expect close to 1,800 students to walk the stage from our five high schools: Midland High School, Legacy High School, Early College High School, Coleman High School, and Young Women's Leadership Academy. College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) remains a central focus, with campuses closely monitoring progress and providing targeted support to ensure every eligible student has the opportunity to meet these important milestones. Achieving CCMR means a student graduating from Midland ISD is prepared to embark on college-level academic work, join a skills-based workforce, and/or proudly serve in the United States Armed Forces successfully.
We are proud to report that the Class of 2026 has earned over $10 million in scholarship offers to date. These accomplishments expand access to postsecondary opportunities and help reduce financial barriers for families. Our students have also completed 16,657 dual credit hours which accelerates their college journeys and results in meaningful tuition savings.
These accomplishments represent more than data points—they reflect expanded opportunities and bright futures for our students. We remain committed to increasing access to advanced coursework, certifications, and postsecondary pathways while continuing to partner with families to support each student’s goals.
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, I encourage all students to continue striving toward their goals and taking full advantage of the opportunities before them. Every assignment completed, every course passed, and every skill mastered sets them up for success next year.
I also want to recognize our teachers, counselors, and staff for their dedication to guidance and support of our students each day. Let us finish this school year strong—celebrating progress, embracing challenges, and ensuring every student is prepared for the next chapter of their journey.
Together, we will continue to Educate the Future with Excellence.
