G/T Information for "New to MISD Attendance Area" Students
New to Midland Area and NOT a GT Transfer
Students who have moved to the MISD area between November 1 and July 31 are eligible to be tested for entry into G/T services in the fall semester. The G/T office will review the documentation listed below and arrange testing with the parent/guardian(s) if the child is eligible. If moving between August 1
Parent/Guardian(s) must provide the following documents or a contact from the transferring district who can provide them:
- Most recent report card from previous school
- Copies of test scores from nationally normed standardized tests that were administered at school.
- Test scores from state accountability tests.
- Proof of Residence

- Elementary services (grades 1-6) are provided at Carver Center or through GEM 2.0.
- Secondary services are available at each secondary campus (grades 7-12).
