Gifted and Talented/Advanced Academics

Gifted & Talented Screening nominations are open October 1–31. Students in grades K–11 who live within Midland ISD boundaries may be nominated, including students attending Midland ISD, private schools, charter schools, or homeschools. Non-MISD students must provide proof of residence.

GT screening may identify students for Carver Center (Grades 1–6), GEM 2.0 (Grades K–6), or Secondary GT Services (Grades 7–12).

Families are invited to attend a GT Parent Awareness Session to learn about the upcoming Gifted & Talented screening process and GT programs available in Midland ISD.

All sessions will be held at Midland ISD Central Office, Room 101.

  • Thursday, October 8 | 5:30–6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 14 | 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 20 | 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Families can learn about GT screening, available GT programs, opportunities for students, and ask questions about the process.
