FACILITIES ASSESSMENT
In April 2021, a Facilities Assessment of Midland ISD campuses was presented at the School Board Meeting. Campus buildings were evaluated for structural integrity, including walls, roofs, and floors. The assessment identified necessary improvements at every campus that was evaluated, which evaluators report is to be expected given the age and number of buildings within the district. Evaluators shared that given the size of the district and age of the buildings, district facilities have been very well maintained. This detailed press release provides more information. WATER QUALITY REPORT
In 2020, Midland ISD committed to water quality testing for all campuses. Tests conducted in 2020 indicated levels of iron, lead, or arsenic in 16 facilities. Repair and replacement of existing water fountains, and installation of reverse osmosis (R.O.) systems was undertaken, and testing was conducted again in 2022 at 17 facilities. Findings from March 2022 are available here. All elementary campuses have an R.O. system, and funding is approved for installation of R.O. systems for all secondary campuses.
