LEAP Employee Pre-K

Through the LEAP Employee Pre-K Program, Midland ISD Early Childhood is committed to providing high-quality early learning experiences that support the growth and development of our youngest learners. We also strive to offer flexible options that meet the needs of our dedicated staff.

Program Overview

Midland ISD currently offers the LEAP Employee Pre-K Program, designed to provide high-quality early learning experiences for 3- and 4-year-old children. The program serves both children who qualify for special education services and children of MISD employees, creating an inclusive classroom environment that supports a range of developmental needs.

LEAP is uniquely designed to align with the scheduling needs of district staff while delivering developmentally appropriate instruction in a nurturing, blended setting.

Program Benefits:

  • High-Quality Instruction: LEAP classrooms follow a research-based curriculum aligned with the Texas Pre-K Guidelines and are taught by certified early childhood educators, ensuring a strong foundation in early literacy, math, and social-emotional development.
  • Before and After School Care Included: Extended care is built into the program to support staff member’s schedules, reducing the need for additional childcare arrangements.
  • Care on MISD Staff Development Days: Care is provided on district staff development days, even when students are not in session. This benefit aligns with the MISD teacher work calendar.
