A Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides patient support in an acute care facility like a hospital. Students will begin by completing the Health Science Foundations. Students will prepare to take the Nurse Aide Certification test their sophomore year. Students who have competencies beyond that of a Nurse Aide will continue on to the Patient Care Technician Practicum where they will work with a variety of patients ranging from pediatrics to emergency room and critical care and train in PCT practices, Phlebotomy, and EKG Tech.

The Pharmacy Tech Program is a comprehensive study of pharmacology and medication preparation. In this program you will have the opportunity to participate in clinicals at local facilities to practice skills. This is a good option for a student who has the goal of becoming a Pharmacist, Physician, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner as it will provide a broad understanding of medication treatment modalities. The students enrolled in the academy partnership will take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam during the second week in May. Once they pass the exam, they will be certified pharmacy technicians.

The Emergency Medical Technician program will educate students as an emergency medical care provider and combines classroom work with hands-on training in ambulances and hospital emergency departments. Students prepare to earn an emergency medical technician (EMT) certification.
