Academic Planning
Dear 8th Grade Parents,
We're excited to share important news about our upcoming Endorsement Exploration, happening on junior high campuses from November 6th to November 17th. During this time, our 8th-grade students will explore many exciting endorsement opportunities offered by Midland ISD.
What's an endorsement? It's a set of courses that go together, designed around specific interests or job skills. Earning an endorsement is a great way for students to build their high school diplomas.
You will find here links to the videos that your child will view during each day, tied to specific endorsement areas. We encourage you to watch these videos and chat with your child about the endorsement options available.
At the beginning of the second week, your child will choose an endorsement that suits their interests and needs and their core courses. This is the first step toward selecting courses for the 2024-2025 school year, which will begin in January. After spring academic planning, a completed copy of your child’s 4-year plan will be ready to view and you will receive instructions of how to view and give a signature of approval for the endorsement/4-year plan.
We're here to help guide your child in making informed choices for a bright future. If you have questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your support in shaping your child's journey. Together, we'll help them succeed.
