Community Connections
A strong community starts with successful students. With over 29,000 students enrolled in MISD, we believe it is essential for our community to be actively involved on our campuses and within the district to come alongside us in our goal of "Educating with Excellence" and to prepare students to graduate college, career, or military ready. Click here for a snapshot of our district.
Together, the Education Foundation and Midland ISD work to identify, develop, engage, and maximize external resources to support schools, staff, students, and their families. Community engagement supports all pillars of our strategic plan.
Engagement Opportunities
Become a Partner in Education
Formerly a program of the Chamber of Commerce, the Partner in Education program (PIE) allows businesses and organizations to financially partner with specific campuses or district wide programming.
There are numerous opportunities to volunteer directly with a campus. We can also connect you to some established non-profit organizations that are currently serving the needs of MISD students. Please fill out the interest form above or contact lauren.hopkins@midlandisd.net
The family support center provides assistance to all MISD students, families, and employees. Support includes volunteering, monetary and in-kind donations, and sponsorship for events. See their district page above or connect via their Facebook.
Midland ISD offers a robust Career & Technical Education (CTE) program for students in grades 9-12, along with several pre-STEM and career exploration courses for students in grades 7-8. Midland ISD's CTE courses provide students with exposure to and training in career areas of direct interest, preparing them for future success. See here for a list of ways individuals or companies can support. You may also directly contact jeff.horner@midlandisd.net
The Midland Council of PTAs (MCPTA) purpose is to support, unify and strengthen the MISD local PTA units by the exchange of ideas through workshops, leadership training, mentoring, & awards. Support includes membership, sponsoring events, and helping deliver programming across campuses. You may also contact midlandcouncilpta@midlandisd.net.
The Family Support Center as well as campuses across the district can always benefit from school supplies, food pantry items, hygiene needs, and extra clothes for students. We are also happy to direct you to local nonprofits working with MISD to help support these needs. Please fill out the interest form above or contact lauren.hopkins@midlandisd.net
Consider donating to the Education Foundation through our Micro-Grants, Grants for Great Ideas, or Grants for Great Minds that support teachers or designated scholarship funding for students.
