Community Connections
A strong community starts with successful students. With over 29,000 students enrolled in MISD, we believe it is essential for our community to be actively involved on our campuses and within the district to come alongside us in our goal of "Educating with Excellence" and to prepare students to graduate college, career, or military ready.
Together, the Midland Education Foundation and Midland ISD work to identify, develop, engage, and maximize external resources to support schools, staff, students, and their families.
There are many ways your organization can be involved! Please see below for a glance at our opportunities and to send a request for more information about partnering!
Engagement Opportunities
Become a Partner in Education
Formerly a program of the Chamber of Commerce, the program Partner in Education (PIE) allows businesses and organizations to financially partner with specific campuses or district wide programming. Visit Partners in Education page to learn more!
There are numerous opportunities to volunteer directly with a campus! Campuses across the district vary in their unique needs & opportunities for volunteer guests, but a few examples of needs might include:
- Field Days
- Academic Judging (Robotics, Science Fairs, Chess Tournaments, etc.)
- Teacher Appreciation Lunches
- Lunchroom Attendants / Workroom Needs
- Parent Engagement Nights
- Guest Readers
For a list of MISD campuses please visit our school finder page. All volunteers must complete a background check with the district to ensure the safety of our students. If you are not sure where to start, we can also connect you to many established nonprofit organizations that are currently serving the needs of MISD students. Several of our nonprofit partners could grow to impact more campuses with the help of community volunteers!
Partner with CTE
Help us grow our local workforce with career pathways! Midland ISD offers a high quality and robust Career & Technical Education (CTE) program for students in grades 9-12, along with several pre-STEM and career exploration courses for students in grades 7-8. Midland ISD CTE courses provide students with exposure to and training in career areas of direct interest, preparing them for future success! See here for a list of ways individuals or companies can support. You may also directly contact jeff.horner@midlandisd.net.
Join the PTA
Did you know that our local PTA chapter was recently named one of the fastest growing in the state of Texas! PTAs are an incredible way to support a campus. All local chapters have oversight by the Midland Council of PTAs (MCPTA). MCPTA exists to support, unify and strengthen the MISD local PTA units by the exchange of ideas through workshops, leadership training, mentoring, & awards. Support includes membership, sponsoring events, and helping deliver programming across campuses. You can join a specific campus, feeder pattern, or all of them! Partner today by visiting the PTA page.
