UTPB: The Falcon Promise                                UT Permian Basin

    The Falcon Promise Program

In an effort to increase access to higher education, UTPB has created the Falcon Promise, a plan that covers the cost of tuition and mandatory fees for students who have limited family resources to pay for college. The Falcon Promise Program will guarantee coverage of tuition and mandatory fees (up to 15 credit hours for the fall and spring semesters only) for Federal Pell Grant eligible degree seeking undergraduate Texas residents that have a family adjusted gross income that does not exceed $60,000, and who are enrolled full time (12 hours or more each semester).

Eligible students must be accepted for admission in a residential undergraduate program (students in an on-line degree program are not eligible beginning spring 2017) and have completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before July 15 to be considered for Falcon Promise. Students may qualify for the program for up to eight (8) semesters of full-time undergraduate enrollment.

Other colleges and universities might have a "Promise Program" also. You can call the financial aid office of the college of your choice or check their website. Each Promise Program is different. For example Texas Tech's promise is called "Red Raider Guarantee" , the Texas A&M Promise is called "Aggie Assurance" and the promise at Texas State in San Marcos is called "Bobcat Promise"
