    Midland ISD's English Language Arts department is extremely passionate about literacy and the impact it has on children of all ages. We believe that all children can love to read and will find that reading is a pathway to learning. Just as important is supporting the skill of writing to encourage young learners to effectively and efficiently express their thoughts through the written word.

    Our departmental goal is to empower teachers, parents, and students to become lifelong learners and to facilitate a working relationship where we are all equal partners in the education of children. As partners in the literacy education of children in Midland, we want to work with all stakeholders to help students become college and career ready.
