• Current Elementary (K-5) G/T Referral and Screening Information

    The nomination period will be October 1 - October 31. No late applications will be accepted. This nomination period includes current MISD students, Midland area private schools, and homeschooled students.

    GT Parent Awareness Sessions: 

    Evening Sessions:
    Monday, October 2 - 5:30 p.m. at Carver Center
    Tuesday, October 3 - 5:30 p.m. at Carver Center
    Tuesday, October 10 - 5:30 p.m. at Carver Center
    Wednesday, October 11 - 5:30 p.m. at Carver Center
    Thursday, October 19 - 5:30 p.m. at Carver Center
     
    Daytime Sessions:
    Thursday, October 5 - 11:30 a.m. at Carver Center
    Tuesday, October 10 - 11:30 a.m. at Carver Center

    These are not required but are helpful to learn more about the application and screening process. 

    Testing will begin in November and end by January 19. Students will be pulled from class multiple times for testing on different days. Results will be sent out by mid February through email. The GT Testing calendar can be found here and will be updated throughout the year. Specific class groups and times will not be announced. Your student will be tested on the days the campus is listed on the calendar. Makeups will be scheduled as needed.

    Note: All MISD kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 4th grade students will be assessed using a universal screener in September.
