WHAT IS CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION?
Career and Technical Education (CTE) is an educational program that is centered on providing students with hands-on, skills focused learning opportunities that will prepare them for their transition to the next level of education and/or workforce entry. The CTE Program is a major part of Midland ISD's mission to ensure all students are prepared and ready for college or career.
WHAT DOES CTE OFFER STUDENTS?
The CTE Program provides students with opportunities to earn certifications while attending high school. Students who earn certifications position themselves to be viewed as more skilled and prepared to enter the workforce.
MISD has partnered with Midland College to enable students to earn college credit for CTE courses taken in high school. Sudents who complete dual credit courses get a head start on their college hours and typically experience a smoother transition from high school to post-secondary education. Please review the steps in the Initial Registration Process and visit the Midland College Dual Credit student page.
