• SCHOOL PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORK

Midland ISD is committed to ensuring all students graduate prepared and ready for college or career. Creating a School Performance Framework (SPF) is one step of many in support of this mission and in support of our efforts to become a System of Great Schools by 2027. The SPF provides a metric-based definition of school quality and incorporates various measures of effectiveness in evaluating school quality to provide differentiated support to schools based on their unique needs. The SPF also serves as a visual expression of locally developed goals and values for schools.  SPF Brochure

    A GREAT SCHOOL:

Focuses on rigorous instruction in a rich, collaborative and respectful learning environment where student learning outcomes are equitable across various student groups.

Cultivates a culture of open communication with families, communities, and staff members to foster shared ownership in collectively creating opportunities for student success.

Maximizes resources, such as facilities and 21st century learning investments, to support student outcomes.

WHAT IS A SCHOOL PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORK (SPF)?

The SPF will supplement the state’s accountability rating and provide a broader evaluation of school performance than simply using standardized test scores. In addition to standardized test scores, the SPF also includes, feedback from parents, information collected from student climate surveys, perceptual data from staff and faculty, student and staff attendance, credit attainment, and course and program access. Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are also a critical component. The district will include a measurement for those types of activities in the future.
