School Attendance
Absences/Tardiness
If your child is absent, please notify the office or your child's teacher as soon as possible.
Your child is tardy after 7:45 am. Please help your child to be on time.
The Compulsory Attendance Law states that a complaint against the parent may be filed in the appropriate court if the student is absent from school 10 or more days within a six month period in the same school year, or is absent on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period.
Any child arriving after 10:00 will be counted absent for the day.
Emerson Late Work Policy
Kindergarten-2nd Grade
Class work is due by 3:15 pm the day it is assigned. The grade a student receives will be determined by the percentage of work completed correctly. If daily work is not completed, the student may attend tutorials during recess to finish the work.
3rd-6th Grade
Students who do not have an assignment completed on the day it is due, will attend lunch tutorial/detention. The assignment must be turned in at the end of lunch tutorial/detention time. Any unfinished work at that time will be counted as incorrect answers.
