• When can I come to the library? You are welcome to use the library before school, during lunch, and after school. During class times, you must have a pass with your name on it that is signed by your teacher. You must also sign in and out on the clipboard.
    How do I check out books? Your Midland High School student ID card serves as a library card. You MUST have an MHS ID card with the bar code on it to check out books and computers from the library.
    May I check out materials for a friend? This is not a good idea since you are responsible for everything checked out on your ID.
    How many items may I check out? May I renew these items? You may have three items checked out at any time. This includes books, calculators, and encyclopedias. Materials may be renewed if they are not needed by another student.
    If a book I want is checked out, may I place a reserve on it? Yes, come to the front desk and tell us which book you want us to hold for you. When the book is returned we will send you a notice to come and check out the book.
    How long may I keep materials? Books from the regular collection may be checked out for 2 weeks. Reference books, encyclopedias are checked out overnight and are due the next day.
    Does the library charge fines? Yes. Fines for books from the regular collection are 10 cents per day. Fines on all overnight materials and calculators are 60 cents per day.
    How do I know if I have any overdue materials? The circulation program, Destiny, keeps track of your records and the library clerk sends notices of fines and overdue to your English teacher.
    May I use the computers in the library? Yes, the Chromebooks are available for you to use while in the library. You must have your Midland High School ID to use a computer if you are not in a class. Use your school login information to access the Chromebook
