The School Plant Services division is made up of 14 departments. The departments consist of Energy Management, Carpentry, Door & Lock, Paint, Mill Shop, Plumbing, HVAC, Electronics, Electrical, Periodic Maintenance, Grounds Care and Environmental services. These support departments are based on the most economical operations to allow for personnel and property protection and adaptation to the changing educational environment and programs.
The Midland Independent School District, encompassing 765 square miles, consists of 45 permanent facilities and 105 single classroom portable buildings, totaling over 3,420,302 square feet. All facilities are located on 665 acres of district property.
The school building is one of the most costly tools in the educational process and is, to the public eye, the most tangible symbol of an ideal.
