Per Proclamation 2022, Texas school districts selected instructional materials in the school year 2021-22 for K-12 health and physical education (PE) implementation in the school year 2022-23 and beyond. Sessions created the opportunity for committee members to gain confidence using the rubric used to evaluate materials. The committees met in January for an in-depth study of the content and alignment to standards. This process, led by committee members and facilitated by Director Amanda Lopez, continued at the campus level. On January 26, the district hosted an Instructional Materials Publishers presentation for committee members. Materials were also posted to the Midland ISD website for review. In addition, opportunities for review and consideration were provided through office hours to remaining teachers and administrators on March 4. Finally, the School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) was presented with all materials for review and consideration on January 26, 2022.
