• A champion for students, Dr. Angelica Ramsey began her tenure as superintendent for Midland ISD on February 22, 2021. Previous to her appointment in MISD, she served almost five years as superintendent of schools at the Pleasant Valley School District. She is no stranger to West Texas, having lived in El Paso for ten years while working in Socorro ISD.

    She is known as a strong educational leader in our state and nation. She is an inclusive and deliberative CEO that places students first and is results oriented. Under her leadership, systems thrive and educational outcomes for students improve. She is excited and humbled to serve Midland ISD as its first female superintendent.

    Dr. Ramsey holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of the Pacific, a Master's Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Prior to her Superintendency, Ramsey held positions as an Associate Superintendent, Chief Academic Officer, High School Principal, Assistant Principal, Academy Coordinator, Classroom Teacher, and Athletic Coach.

    She resides in the city of Midland with her husband Daryton who is also an educational leader. As an Army veteran, she believes in service. She is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The Midland Chamber of Commerce, The Midland Education Foundation, and the Boys Scouts of America. She is also a member of the Midland Rotary Club and Uptown Business & Professional Women’s Group.
