  • Rusk Elementary serves Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade students. As a collective community of educators, we are committed to educating all students and creating pathways to ensuring student success. Our mission is to foster positive growth in social and emotional behavior and attitudes. We accept the responsibility to guide and direct all students to develop to their fullest potential and to become productive citizens of the community. Rusk Elementary fosters relationships with colleagues, students, families, and the community to ensure that all feel respected and valued.

  • MISD to install LED lighting district-wide

    The Midland ISD Board of Trustees has given the green light to new, cost-saving LED lighting throughout the district. The project will include retrofitting all existing fluorescent and incandescent lighting both inside and outside.

  • MISD Accepted Into Teacher Incentive Allotment Program

    Midland ISD has received initial approval to participate in the state's Teacher Incentive Allotment program, which will give teachers the opportunity to earn extra, performance-based pay if they meet certain academic goals.

  • Rusk 6th Graders Place 1st, 2nd in Stock Market Game

    Rusk sixth-graders' prowess in investing earned them first- and second-place finishes playing the Stock Market Game in the El Paso Region's Middle School division. In the process they learned about local companies and that in trading "anything can happen."

  • MISD Family Support Center Receives $2,000 Grant

    The Midland ISD Family Support Center has received a $2,000 grant that will help the center continue supporting students and families in need. The money provided by Superior HealthPlan will fund hygiene kits that contain essential items such as laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, and deodorant.
