STAAR is the new assessment for student learning for all Texas students in the 3rd-8th grades.  STAAR will assess the same subjects at the same grade levels as TAKS.  Alamo JHS 7th graders will be assessed in Reading, Writing and Math.  Alamo JHS 8th graders will be assessed in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  Students in the 8th grade for the 2012-2013 school year WILL have the opportunity to retest on Reading and Math.  Parents, please review the following important STAAR calendar dates and STAAR resources link.  These links should help answer frequently asked questions and provide updated STAAR information as it is availble to the public.
