Career and Technical Education (CTE) lays the foundation for rewarding careers by emphasizing technical skills, building workplace competencies, reinforcing academic concepts, and providing leadership development opportunities. CTE teaches both citizenship and lifelong skills. It encourages students to practice critical and creative thinking and allows them to participate in career exploration that helps them develop an academic plan to prepare for continued education at the post secondary level. CTE students also learn skills necessary for successful entry into the workplace.
