Substitute Teachers
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED. APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED DAILY.
The daily rate for substitute teachers is $65 per day. When a substitute is in the same assignment for 10 consecutive days, the pay is $75 per day, retroactive to the first day of the assignment. Substitutes who work on Friday are paid $75. Substitutes with a minimum of 30 hours of college coursework and who are at least 18 years of age can substitute in grades Pre-K through 6th. However, substitute teachers for grades 7 through 12 must meet the requirements of 30 college hours and be at least 21 years of age.
For substitute teachers who hold a valid teacher certificate and who are in a long-term assignment for at least 30 consecutive days, the rate of pay will be the daily rate of a first year teacher (as per Midland ISD teacher salary placement schedule), retroactive to the first day of the long-term assignment.

Substitute Clerical Workers and Teacher Assistants: These positions are filled on a part-time, on-call, as-needed basis for $47 per day. Six hours of observation, substitute orientation, and a criminal history check are also required prior to being hired.
