On-Line Application Instructions and Frequently Asked Questions |
Thank you for applying with Midland ISD. In order to facilitate the completion of the online application, please take a few moments to review the instructions prior to completing your application. We have also included some frequently asked questions that we hope will be helpful to you. If you need further assistance you may:

Background & Criminal History Check: Under state law, MISD may obtain any criminal history record information pertaining to an applicant. The District may obtain such information from any law enforcement agency including a police department, the Department of Public Safety, the Texas Department of Corrections or similar out of state entities.

Instructions |
1. The application is best-viewed using MS Explorer 6.0 or Netscape 6.2. 2. It is anticipated that the application process will take approximately 30- 45 minutes to complete. It is recommended that you have all information available and ready to enter (see bulleted list below). 3. You will be given an Applicant ID and you will select a password. Using your Applicant ID and password, you will be able to return to your application to make changes, corrections or additions. 4. Your application will remain active for a period of 12 months. To re-activate your application, you will need to update your application using your Applicant ID and password before the 12 months have lapsed. Once you update your application, it will be again active for a period of another 12 months. 5. You will be asked for the following specific information to complete the application. Have available for reference:
· Certification Type, Level, Description; month and year of issue and month and year of expiration, if applicable.
· Colleges/Universities attended, graduation date, degree earned and major subject. If you attended college in a state other than Texas and your school is not listed by name, select the state where you attended. In the blank space, type the name of your college/university in order to proceed.
· To/From dates of teaching, student teaching and non-teaching experience, name of organization, name of supervisor and contact phone number.
· Three (3) professional references including name, title, organization, work phone, home phone & email address if available.
· Honors, distinctions, and training you have completed.
6. Certain fields have been identified with a red arrow. These fields are required and you will not be allowed to submit your application unless these fields are completed. 7. If you are in the process of obtaining certification, choose PENDING under Certification/Licensure Type, make the appropriate selections under State, Level, & Field Code/Description, enter expected certification date under Date Issued, leave the Expire Date field blank. 8. It is recommended that you print a copy of your application. 9. Once you have submitted your application you will receive the message "Your application has been successfully transmitted." If you have provided a valid email address, an email will be sent to that address confirming the receipt of your application. This is your indication that your credentials are available to MISD principals and other hiring officials. 10. The on-line application database of applicant information is available to all principals/hiring officials.

FAQs |
Is my information confidential? Because MISD is a public entity, your application is considered a public document and is subject to disclosure, upon request, whether you apply on a paper document or through the on-line process.
For which positions do I use the on-line application process? Use the on-line application process if you are applying for a Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Teacher/Coach, Librarian, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, Diagnostician, Speech Language Pathologist, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Athletic Trainer.
Should I mail my resume, transcripts and certification/licensure records to MISD in addition to using the on-line application process? Please bring copies of these documents at the time of the screening interview. Official credentials will be obtained if you are offered employment with the district.
Am I required to provide information regarding Teaching Experience if I have not held a teaching position? If you are new to the teaching field, you do not need to complete the information requested under Teaching Experience. Be sure to complete the Student Teaching Experience area or the Non-Teaching Experience area, as appropriate.
Am I required to provide information regarding Student Teaching Experience if I am an experienced teacher? If you have 5 or more years of teaching experience, you do not need to complete the information requested under Student Teaching Experience. If you do have the information available, you may include it, however.
Am I required to provide information regarding Non-Teaching Experience? As a minimum, include any work experience that you feel is relevant to the position for which you are applying.
