EAT SMART FOODS - updated November 06
The EAT SMART School Nutrition Program is the name of the school food service component of the CATCH program. The EAT SMART Guidelines categorize our MISD menus into "SLOW, GO, and WHOA" categories based on the fat and/or sugar content of each menu item.
Go, Slow, Whoa symbols Go - Slow - Whoa list from CATCH curriculum - New!
Go - Slow - Whoa list, revised 8/23/06
GO foods include mostly fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and lower-fat dairy products. These GO foods are lower in fat and/or sugar, and/or they are whole foods (less processed). SLOW foods are higher in fat and/or sugar and/or are more processed than GO foods. WHOA foods are highest in fat and/or sugar and are the most processed.
