The Telecommunications Department provides support for the district's telephone services, distance learning, and satellite programming. Other responsibilities include administration of the district's web management software, creating and maintaining user accounts. Registrations for the district's technology workshops are also handled in this department. To request assistance with telephone services, reserve the video conferencing room, request taping of satellite programs, register for technology workshops, or request assistance with web site accounts use the contact information below.

Telephones
In addition to the regular telephone lines, cellular phones are assigned to each campus for use in case of an emergency or if a regular phone is unavailable. The district receives approximately a 63% discount on eligible telecommunications services through E-Rate which is funded through revenues collected by telecommunications providers as the Universal Service Fee.

Distance Learning
Midland ISD provides access to seminars, meetings, and staff development through distance learning/video conferencing equipment located at the central office. The equipment was provided by a grant to Region XVIII. Connectivity is managed by Region XVIII.

Satellite Programming
Educational programming is available for classroom use. Digital programming from PBS, Annenberg and other educational networks can be recorded and replayed in the classroom. From time to time T-Star offers programming that covers everything from education to staff development and retirement. Satellite programming is recorded only when a request for the programming is made.
